| Chapter 1 - The Fog Terror |
Hi Guys , This is your Naveen Gupta and In This Series named 'The Bombay Experience' , I will be telling about My recent 10 days Tour to Mumbai - 'The City of Dreams' in January 2023. I Will be sharing about my journey , my experiences and my reviews.
Day 1 (2nd Jan 2023) :-

So , we had our flight from Delhi to Mumbai on 4th Jan 2023. We were supposed to leave for Delhi By Road from Jammu on 3rd Jan , but instead by surprise , we left for Delhi in Afternoon of 2nd Jan and trust me , this decision led to a horrifying experience ahead.
So , we were already late on our way and we were supposed to reach Bahadurgarh near Delhi till midnight at My Father's Friend's Place. we reached Lakhanpur which is situated near J&K-Punjab Border at 5:40 pm and we took a Stop there to eat the famous Street Food of there 'Palle' (also called Ram Ladoo at other places).
Now , On the way ahead as the evening approached , and the sky started turning dark , we already knew that we will reach our destination at mid-night 3-4 am , so we decided to stay somewhere in between the way.
At 6:40 , we reached Mukerian in Punjab and we took a stop again there in Burger King & KFC to fulfill our cravings.

The Thrilling Part was yet to Appear , and as soon as we arrived in Parking to leave the place , we all were surprised by seeing the Fog in our surroundings , It was amazing to see Fog suddenly at a place where there was no sign of fog 15 mins before. The main problem was to drive with such a thick layer of fog.

Ok so , somehow by making fun of the fog and enjoying the moment , we departed from the place towards our destination , we somehow managed to cross Jalandhar by following Other Cars and Trucks, but the real challenge was ahead near Ludhiana , where the layer of fog grew more thick , I remember nothing was visible in the surroundings and even the Fog Lamps of the vehicles were now giving up , as the fog was now mixed with smog due to heavy pollution of factories in Ludhiana .
In the chaos , we Reserved a Hotel in Ludhiana to stay there , and now we entered its location in google map and our destination was that Hotel .
But , The story was not convinced to end yet , the hotel was situated near the highway itself and we were supposed to take a turn from the highway from where the hotel was merely 300-400 m , but here comes the Fog Terror , the turn on the highway was not visible and we couldn't take risk of hitting our car with the divider , and hence we missed it !
with the help of google maps , we tried to follow the other paths to the hotel , but again , nothing was visible and hence we continued driving on the hope that the fog will reduce ahead on the way.
Then , we decided to stay at the Eagle Motel in Rajpura which was situated on the highway and because we had visited there many times , it was easy for us to reach there. so we called there for a room reservation.
But , once again there was a suspense in our story ,
As soon as we reached near Rajpura , a police check post came and we got to know that The highway ahead is closed and.....
and we were diverted towards Chandigarh-Zirakpur Highway , But one more surprise was there to reveal , after crossing the checkpost , a noisy sound came .... and thud.... , our car's front tyre fell into a pit on the roadside which was not visible due to the fog. and this meant one more struggle , my father tried to make the car out of the pit by taking the car backward and by giving support to the tyre by a wooden planck , but nothing worked , then we took help from some car drivers so that they can altogether push the car out of it , but it also failed , luckily some 6-7 men were returning their home on foot from their work , they were most probably local labour providers and thanks to them, they were able to push the car out of the pit ! , we took a long sigh , finally we are out of this shit.
so , we missed our destination of Reaching Bahadurgarh ! , We missed our hotel in Ludhiana ! , We missed our reservation in Eagle Motel ! , Our car's tyre fell into a pit ! , We were diverted towards Chandigarh-Zirakpur Highway !
So , as we were diverted towards Chandigarh-Zirakpur Highway which was surrounded by farm covers on both sides , thus the fog was more dense their and it was so dense , that moving ahead was next to impossible ............
then we saw that all cars were stopping on the road side , so we also thought of doing same and a little ahead , we found a parking area of a dhaba on the roadside , where 2-3 other cars were also parked , so we also stopped there. The time at that time was Midnight 1:30 am

we tried to have a nap there in the car , but i don't know why we were not able to . so surprisingly , we left the place , took a U-turn and moved towards the police checkpost we have crossed and found a small hotel in the chowk , but there was no one there and the door of the hotel was closed , so we tried to call there from google , then the manager came and we took the room and then the feeling of relaxation , uffffff..... , we all felt asleep .
we didn't knew what will happen tomorrow ? , the beginning of our journey was itself so thrilling but ya we enjoyed it , so what happened Next ?
